I was born in southern California but completed my undergraduate and medical school training on the East coast. I returned to California for residency at UCSF in the San Francisco General Primary Care program. I then completed a Chief Residency year at San Francisco General Hospital. My research and teaching interests include improving the quality of care for patients with substance use disorders and facilitating the transition between the inpatient and outpatient settings. I will also be participating in the implementation of an electronic health record at San Francisco General Hospital.
