The Primary Care Research Center (PCRC) was formed in 1994 under the
direction of Dr. Andrew Bindman and Dr. Kevin Grumbach. The PCRC is
composed of a multi-disciplinary group of research from the Division of
General Internal Medicine and the Department of Family and Community
Medicine at UCSF. The PCRC research focus includes:
- Access to primary care
- The health care safety net
- Organization and financing of primary care
- The effectiveness of primary care in improving health care access and quality
- Chronic care management in primary care
- Communication challenges in primary care
- Identification and management of high risk populations in primary care
- International models of primary care
- The impact of health policies on access to and quality of primary care
