RE: DGIM Research Symposium on Monday, November 16, 2009 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM in A-455
Each year we plan General Internal Medicine Research Symposia for interested faculty, fellows, and residents. The next symposium is scheduled from 1:00 to 5:00 PM November 16th on the Parnassus campus. On-block residents who wish to attend will not be scheduled for patients that afternoon, and other residents are welcome to attend. Lunch will be provided.
Any faculty member or fellow may present a brief work in progress about a new or ongoing project, and those faculty that have not presented in the recent past are particularly encouraged to volunteer. Typically the presentations are 20-30 minutes in length and discuss a specific project or question. The format will be left to the individual presenter, but we encourage the presentation of exciting new developments, methodological issues, or unpublished results. Advance handouts or other written materials are optional. Presenters should allow 10-15 minutes for questions and discussion and we hope that each presentation will be no more than 20 minutes. Thus each presenter will have a total of 30 minutes for presentation and discussion.
In addition to providing an opportunity for the research faculty to meet and discuss common interests, we hope that the conference will be well attended by other DGIM faculty and residents who are interested in clinical research.
We realize that everyone is very busy, but we hope that you take the time to participate in this symposium and learn first hand about other GIM projects.
If you have questions about the format or what may be appropriate for presentation, please contact Doug Bauer at dbauer@psg.ucsf.edu
We will circulate an agenda in the near future.
