UCSF Young Investigator Travel Award
The Deborah L. Faiman and Dr. Laurence R. Meyerson UCSF Young Investigator Travel Award will assist in the travel costs for a resident or fellow in the Division of General Internal Medicine to attend a domestic scientific meeting/conference. This generous gift is made possible by Ms. Deborah L. Faiman and Dr. Laurence R. Meyerson.
Each fiscal year, the DGIM Travel Fund Selection Committee will select 2 to 4 recipients for the $2,000 travel award that is available. The Committee will continue to accept application until the annual $2,000 funds are awarded. Please check the DGIM website for updates.
Status as of November 2009: Confirmation of Fiscal Year 2009-2010 funds pending. We will accept application but no awards will be made at this time.
Eligibility:
- Must have an active appointment at the time of the award in the Division of General Internal Medicine Primary Care Residency or Fellowship Program.
- Attending and presenting scientific information at a domestic scientific meeting/conference in the same fiscal year of the award.
Guideline:
- Recipient must acknowledge the source of the award made at the scientific presentation.
- Proof of attendance and presentation must be provided to receive award, otherwise award is forfeited.
- Receipts of travel expenses must be submitted within 30 days after returning from the meeting to process reimbursement. Only eligible expenses per UCSF Accounting Guidelines will be reimbursed.

- Scientific Meeting/Conference Attending, Dates, and Location
- Presentation Title and Brief Synopsis of Topic
- Projected Budget - Transportation, Lodging, Registration Fee, Abstract Fee, Meals and Incidentals
Notification of Award:
Potential applicants will receive notification of Committee decision by email within 3 weeks of receipt of application.
