Research interests: Educational and organizational approaches to improving the quality of care for diverse population.  Areas of emphasis include assessment of organizational cultural competence; development, implementation and assessment of educational programs for health professionals; and using quality improvement methods to advance the delivery of cultural competent services.

Teaching and Mentoring: Lead author for nationally distributed UCSF curriculum, "Toward Culturally Competent Care." Development and implementation of cultural competency train-the-trainer programs for clinicians (e.g., physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, mental health providers) and frontline staff.  Educational programs to advance organizational cultural competence through development of leadership skills and use of quality improvement methods.
