Research interests: Research Interests:  Using large databases to understand patterns of care that contribute to socioeconomic determinants of health and health disparities; examining the relationship between race/ethnicity and life-course socioeconomic status in relation to health outcomes in older and minority populations; determining preferences and goals of care at the end-of-life in older adults with progressive chronic disease; understanding the patient’s experience of racial bias and mistrust and the impact on the doctor-patient relationship and end-of-life care choices.

Teaching and mentoring:  Content and clinical mentoring related to end-of-life/palliative care, geriatric medicine, and ethnic disparities in health.
