Mission
The Community Liaison Core (CLC) of the Center for Aging in Diverse Communities (CADC) is the unit of the Center that focuses on the development and maintenance of academic-community partnerships. The mission of the CLC is to foster equal and mutually beneficial academic-community partnerships to promote health and healthy aging in ethnically diverse older adults. We have dedicated community outreach and technical assistance staff who facilitate aging research in ethnically diverse populations.
The specific aims of the CLC are to:
- Support the efforts of CADC Scholars (junior minority investigators-see Research Core) and other UCSF aging researchers to engage ethnically diverse communities in minority aging research;
- Maintain a collaborative network of community and faith-based organizations to enhance the engagement of communities of color in minority aging research; and
- Disseminate information on state-of-the-art recruitment and retention methods for health disparities research among older African Americans, Asians, and Latinos.
